Kei graduated with a Diplome Universitaire de Technologie in Chemistry from Université Paris-XII Orsay. She came to England in 1995 and attended Kingston University where she obtained a BSc in Chemistry with Business Management. Her degree included research-based dissertation on capillary electrophoresis.

In 1998, she attended King’s College London where she obtained an MSc in Pharmaceutical Analysis and Quality Control, including the preparation of a dissertation on chiroptical spectroscopy.

In 1999, she attended University College London where she obtained a PhD in the field of agrochemicals, in particular predicting their mobility-related physico-chemical properties, such as volatility, soil sorption and solubility using the Linear Solvation Energy Relationship (LSER) approach. This work was in collaboration with Syngenta, a major crop protection research company, where she spent 15 months implementing her research in Syngenta’s screening process.

Kei joined Jenkins in 2005 after having worked in private practice in a firm specialised in Intellectual Property Law in Paris. She qualified as a UK Chartered Patent Attorney in 2008 and is working towards qualification as a European Patent Attorney.

Kei is fluent in French and Japanese and has a good understanding of German and Spanish.

In her spare time, Kei practices and teaches kickboxing and kungfu.

JENKINSに日本語に堪能な弁理士が誕生

榎本　圭

パリ第１１オルセー大学(Université Paris-XI Orsay)にて化学工業技術短期大学修了資格(DUT: Diplome Universitaire de Technologie)を取得し、同校を卒業。１９９５年英国に渡り、KINGSTON大学にて経営管理と化学で理学士号を取得。あわせて、キャピラリー電気泳動法について研究論文を作成。

1999年、University College London にて、農薬分野の研究で博士号（PhD)を取得。この研究は、線形溶媒和エネルギー相関式 (LSER) アプローチを用いて、農薬の流動性に関する物理化学的性質　（揮発性、土壌収着性および溶解性など）を予測するものであった。この研究は、大手の農作物保護研究会社であるSyngentaとの共同研究であり、同社のスクリーニングプロセスにおいて、１５ヶ月間、研究を行った。

パリの知的財産法を専門とする法律事務所に勤務したあと、2005年にJenkinsに入所。2008年に、英国の弁理士資格を取得。現在、ヨーロッパ弁理士の資格取得のための準備中。

英語のほか、フランス語と日本語に堪能であり、またドイツ語やスペイン語にもよ通じている。

余暇には、キックボクシングとカンフーの練習をし、また教えてもいる。
