Out and About
Stephen James spoke at the IBC Conference held in London in April 2003. The subject of his talk was recent inter partes disputes at OHIM.
He was also the guest speaker at the ITMA September (2003) Evening Meeting. In this case, the presentation was a review of recent OHIM opposition and appeal cases.
Copies of the slides for both talks are available on request.
Tom Albertini and Ian Wilkes spoke at the prestigious IP Summer Law School held at Downing College, Cambridge in August 2003. Tom’s subject was OHIM opposition proceedings, whilst Ian dealt with the type of trade marks accepted by the CTM Office and how to overcome objections raised by OHIM on absolute grounds.
Trade Mark Seminars
The Jenkins Trade Mark Department is running a series of seminars covering the basics of trade mark law and practice. If you are interested in attending one of these seminars please contact Hazel Buckley at our Caxton Street address.
Exam Success
We are pleased to announce that our associate Nina Hurley passed the professional examinations set for prospective UK trade mark attorneys in a single sitting. This is an outstanding achievement. Nina is a graduate in French and Art, who joined the Jenkins firm in 1997. She remains a fluent French speaker which, with the increasing internationalisation of trade mark filing and prosecution, is a major asset in the world of trade marks.
